About
The Alpha Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® is the Greater Raleigh flagship chapter which was chartered in 1928. In its more than ninety (95) years of demonstrating “Supreme in Service to All Mankind,” the chapter has obtained numerous regional awards and national recognition for its support of the sorority’s programs and its service in and to the local community.
Alpha Theta Omega Chapter has awarded more than one (1) million dollars in scholarships through its annual debutante ball since 1937 and has tutored hundreds of students through its reading programs. Members of the chapter have held or currently hold public office or key career positions.
The sorority’s current theme, “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood,” seeks to build upon Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s rich legacy of service by galvanizing our sisterhood of more than 120,000 active members to lead on the front lines of change, education, and advocacy.
Membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is by invitation and, therefore, membership in Alpha Theta Omega Chapter is by invitation to college graduates of high scholastic and ethical standards who desire to be of service to all mankind. The chapter meets at 10:00 A.M. on the third Saturday of each month except July and August at its assembly house located at 2325 Garner Road.
